Refamo Oy was founded in 2020 as a spin-off of the TUTLI technological research project lead by Lappeenranta University of Technology (LUT).

monitoring. It is the culmination of 20 years of research lead by professor Timo Björk at the Laboratory of Steel Structures at LUT.
Refamo Oy’s founders Vesa Aaltonen and Sami Nippula saw the potential of the technology and started the commercialization journey of this novel technology.
